    Wrist Pin Clip Failure

This very subject came up about 20 years ago... Can't remember who suggested it... Their idea was to cut off most of the straight section of the end of the wire clip. The idea was to eliminate the extra weight that may tend to weaken the clip. Ken

    Retrieving Large R/C Boats

...Speaking of sinking... Wish you guys with the larger boats, most boats, would put some kind of floatation in the back of the boat. Helps keep the boat from filling up. Makes it a lot easier/quicker to pick up and load into the retrieve boat. Some of those big gas boats are so heavy, I...

    Christmas early!

Got four props from Mark Sholund, today!! They were inside of a padded envelope. Inside two new post office boxes, wrapped up and tapped inside of rolled up/folded news paper... NO WAY they were going to get hurt!!! His props always look like they should be on someone's bracelet or on a chain...

    After-run Oil

Buckshot's blow plug would work. I may opt out for a smaller tube to attach a hose to. Like I said before, it spins a little faster between a couple fingers. I don't run gas so I don't know if a larger diameter hose is necessary... Ken

    After-run Oil

Made my own blow plug years ago by taking an old plug, drilling from the bottom down thru the center lengthwise. Put a piece of brass tubbing through and soldered that. Bought a production blow plug... just to see what it was. Gave it away. Like my home made much better. Even with a length of...

    Prop Resources And Information

Well, I had to stop somewhere... Otherwise, I knew I'd have to mention that Mark stands behind his props. Except when the boat is first thrown in the water, He doesn't like getting a face full of water any more than the rest of us... Ken

    Prop Resources And Information

Mark Sholand. Mark cleans up the hub as well. More than most other prop people do. While that may or may not have any noticeable effect on performance. It LOOKS like something you wouldn't mind being seen with! NOT already starting to tarnish. He supplies a card with the prop that will give you...

Sport 20 MLBoatworks GSX338 nitro build

Looks good! That Carbon fiber Veil you talk about, does that come as part of the kit? Or, something you're adding "just because?" Added strength would be my guess... Going wire drive? Who's engine mount? Will be curious as to how it performs. Please let us know!! Ken

    Hydroplane C/G Starting Point

I've mentioned John Finch's book on here not long ago, before... I bought my copy when they first came out about 22 years ago. Think it was a little expensive back then. I was on the fence about buying it. Think it was at least, less than half that?? I still go back now and then to "the R/C...

    Shaft Oiler or Grease?

I think ANY cable is going to have some whipping to it just because of the loading and un loading. I've got two Mercury lubes/greases I want to try... But, a couple other lubes sound interesting. Motorcycle chain lube. And chainsaw bar and chain lube. Both are formulated to cling to the...

    Shaft Oiler or Grease?

I'm wondering if the number of bend(s) and/or extent of the bend(s), plays a role in the amount of grease/oil used. I would assume it does... But, to what extent?? Tom, does your 45 hydro have a straighter drive line than your other boats? If it does, then that my be another reason to have an...
