Pulling what's left of my hair out

Regardless of hull type (epoxy or gel coated polyester), I always prep the hulls for paint using a grey Scotch-Brite pad, old school Tide detergent, and the hottest water you can tolerate. Scuff the hull rinsing the pad often and rinse the hull when finished. I use Plaster of Paris to fill the...

    GPS for boats.

The Sky units are pretty nice. They are APP based. They won't transmit to your phone while testing but once you complete a run, bring the boat close to your phone to transmit the DATA. The Futaba units will transmit real time to the TX.

    Need assistance please

I've had several Y-6s. IMHO the PPW 7016 LL Bar Cut is the best prop for most monos. Even in good air I generally will run a 7016 LL 395 on the large engines. You may be able to use a 405 for the offshore course in Dallas but if it bogs on the tight left hand turns you'll have to prop down.

Less air less fuel, however heat is in the mixture equation.

I used to race nitro in District 7. You had to have a selection of high altitude props when racing in Lubbock, Amarillo, and Carlsbad. I would bet your seeing adjusted altitudes near 8000' on most summer days. Gas is not as bad but performance definitely suffers there. As Wally stated, download...

    Backlash Gen 3

I built this boat in 2014 and it sat in my closet sealed and ready for paint until I got off my lazy butt and finished it last weekend. Pane 26cc, Tyndall turn fin, and a SFD by Brent Byer.

    Blazer Lauterbach Build Thread

Evercoat catalyzed metal glazing putty is superior to Bondo's version. I've had issues with non catalyzed putty blistering but I always use white epoxy primer.

    VP RC Boat Fuel.

Roger, I have been using Torco for several years and it's a very good fuel. I will add castor to a gallon for engine break-in. In my honest opinion the VP fuel is overpriced. Torco is only 14 miles from my home. If you need fuel for the Nats, I can pick up several gallons and bring it with.
