    New classic Thunderboat

Thanks Jerry! Glad yours is running well. Yes the new shop is coming along nicely. The heat has been on for a bit now and that is a HUGE improvement. Plan on getting a bunch of shelves installed this weekend. Just keep knocking out a little bit at a time.

    New classic Thunderboat

Built this for a customer on the east coast. Those of you over there will be seeing it next year along with it's red twin that will be done later this week. This is from my molds, all carbon fiber with a green kevlar top. I don't do kevlar very often and was forced to relearn a few lessons that...

RC Unlimiteds Gas scale Gold Cup

Here are some videos from the RC Unlimiteds Gold Cup in Chelan WA. I missed it and couldn't go since I was in Kuwait for work for 3 weeks.

    RC Unlimiteds Atomic cup

Yes, with a gas engine there is only so much you can do with an open engine bay and the fake dummy motor. The plug WILL show. I don't know of anyone other then Jeff Snell making modern fiberglass /carbon hulls and he doesn't make them for anyone else as far as I know. I'd like to make a mold...

    RC Unlimiteds Atomic cup

Those are just of Gas scale. I think we had 55 boats show up between 1/10 electric, 1/8 electric, 1/8 Nitro and Gas scale. Chris has posted 700+ pics to his FB page as of yesterday.

    RC Unlimiteds Atomic cup

Weather was pretty bad at times, rain, hail, cold. But it was still a fun day. My Pay & Pak did well with 2 seconds a first and a third. Here are a couple shots from Chris Denslow. Pretty awesome that he takes all these pics for us.

2nd run for the Gas scale 69 Pay & Pak

I built this hull for someone a couple years ago and he put a beautiful paint job on it but only ran it a few times then put it up for sale earlier this year. I couldn't resist the price so it's back home now. This is the 2nd test day and I think it's pretty close. Needs a slight turn fin...

IMPBA 6 scale gas rule change proposal

There are a few modern hulls being built up here at the moment. Tom Hindley comes to mind. I'll see if I can get some pics of his modern hulls. Don't forget that there is some leeway in the measurements (+/-) 10% and the dimentions of the hulls do reflect that in the registration list. I use...

THE NORTHWEST SCALE CHAMPIONSHIP RACE IS BACK!

I had so much fun at these races. Thanks Mike. I guess I really need to get my thunderboat done too.

    My Gas scales

Gary, I'd love to set up the drivers so that the head turned and the steering wheel turned. Some day..... Then the on board videos would be even better. Here is a 360 deg on board vid from the Smirnoff.

    My Gas scales

First one is my 65 Bardahl. All carbon 30.5cc Gizmo powered. 2nd is my 1959 Nitrogen also all carbon 30.5cc. 3rd is my 68 Smirnoff, all wood construction. The Smirnoff is one of the first Gas Scale hulls built when the class was first conceived. Big heavy tank.

    Gas scale hydro duel

Last race in Ellensburg WA. Had 6 gassers show up, we ran 3 boat heats. This heat 1 boat died on the launch so it was Jim in the Atlas (Blue Blaster) and myself in the 65 Bardahl. Fun race.

David, I go this one from Bob English if I remember correctly.

    1965 Bardahl Gas scale

Just finished this boat up the other day. Got it ready just in time for the race in Ellensburg WA last Sunday. Boat ran well . Have a few adjustments to make to get through the corners a little better but otherwise pretty happy.

    Round nose gas scale testing

Every hull is different so I really have no idea what yours would need with a quickdraw in it. You might find (like I did) that the motor and CG needs to be farther forward. Mine is so light that I have to have more lift from the prop to try to keep the nose down even with the reduced air trap.

    Round nose gas scale testing

I did a lot of mods to the sponsons and the air trap to reduce the ammount of lift. Most thunderboat hulls have way more lift than you need at higher speeds. We did try a bunch of different props one day and the 2716's seemed to do the best with this motor combo. I do have a 6717 3 blade loaned...

    Round nose gas scale testing

Dave, it's lighter than any thunderboat hull I've seen, coming in at about 7.5 lbs. It's large but very deceiving when you pick it up. It's about the same RTR weight as my wood Whiplash sport hydro. Gilbert, I'm running a n old Zenoah 260 bottom end with a full mod 29.5 top end kit from...
