Just to let you know I ain't ignoring you, but I am trying to go through two years of pic's and trying to find the template I used to make the fin. As far as the cockpit area I used two strips of 3/8" balsa I did the initial shaping so I could have 3'16 of wood sticking out of the area of the...
It looks like you chopped a good 6 inches off the total length of the tub you don't have that third hatch cover anymore. The sponsons appear to be the same length except for adding the third riding pad. Be interesting to see how it comes out from all the testing.
Walt,
Thanks for the reply, but yesterday I was able to make contact with the people out at Hyperformanceproducts, and they are sending me a copy so I can get started soon on the Spitfire. The person I bought the boat from on Ebay was nice and refunded me the cost of buying the instructions...
Hello All,
Well my concern is I just bought a new in box Spitfire II off of EBAY, but when I got it the only thing missing out of the whole box was the building instructions. I am putting this out to see if there is anybody out there that might have the instrution book so I can get this boat...
Form the pic you posted it is the same Picco 80 I have the last of the EXR series drum rotor, very strong running engine I have mine mounted in a Dumas Skater 67 hull, and I can tell you one thing for sure it can make the boat scream across the pond B)
Hi ya'll
So has anybody heard anything if LoneStar Balsa is going to get there business back up and running or are they going to take it as a lose, and move on to something else. Ot sure wold be nice to see them get back on there feet and get there business back up and running again. They were...
Bad thing with Sigs from what I looked at on there website 5Ply 1/8x12x48 plywood is almost double the price from LoneStar Balsa. Balsa USA prices for the same sheet is just a little over $13.00 pretty close to LoneStar prices. Dave
I know all about sand cast molding the Navy used to have a job called molders and that is all they did for work pack sand for molds to make valve bodies, pump casings, and what ever else that was required. I also know that the finer the sand used the smoother the finish on the piece your...
 I have a few inputs about this whole thing about engines as a whole. The prices for engines I feel is over rated honestly how hard is it to cast and engine crankcase with the way molds are made they should be able to case at least 20 crankcases per molding. Then all the internal...
Thanks for the info I'll give that a try hopefully before the weather goes for the worse. I'd really like to see it run after all the work I put into the boat. It didn't turn out all the bad from what you can see in the pics That I have uploaded into my gallery. Dave
I have tried launching it by myself like I do with all my other outriggers, but I just can't get it to stay up on plane once the rear sponsons get swamped with water then it can't get back up. Then I had my son launch it holding it parallel with the water and send it out skipping it on the top...
