Hi Guys

Need some advise please, I know this was discussed in numerous topics before - just cant find them. How much can one remove from the skeg and what side should be sharpened ?

Here's how I cut all of mine. Both sides sharpened.

I saw Kently Porters Last weekend and it was 1 inch by 1 inch on the bottom of the skeg.I don't know if it was sharp on oneside. I think it was in the middle.

from what i've been seeing, shorter is better. don't remove width, just length. how much is dependant on your hull & setup. pretty much have to trash 1 lower testing. keep cutting it shorter until it starts losing turning ability, then cut one at the last length that handled well.

Bill has the right idea here back cutting or sweeping the skeg you draw disturbed water away from the prop. Also gives a cleaner water line into the prop. Only thing is I would only sharpen the leading edge and square off the trailing edge to reduce drag.
