IMPBA District-2 Schedule ??

Have any of the clubs in D2 gotten their race dates finalized. The Southern Ontario Model Boat Club is hoping to hold our first race this year and were trying to line things up. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Tony J

Hi Tony, I Missed your post the first time. This is what was discussed at the OWMBC and Transom Twister meetings this week.

OWMBC is shooting for the mini gold cup to be on May 17 at Sumpter as long as we get approval from the township. This should not be an issue.

Spencer Park will be September 27.

The Transom Twisters are shooting for the second weekend in August which would be the 8&9. This date or race has not been firmed up yet as everything needs to be negotiated with GM.

Any word on who the new district director is now that Kevin is president? We need to know who to send the sanctions to.

For what it's worth....

I looked at the DaytonR/C club website and it has a countdown to race day 09. When I looked at the calender and counted out the days it would put the Dayton race on May 17th.

Also saw that Saginaw web site has tentative date of Aug 2nd

Where is the Southern Ontario Model Boat Club located and do you run gas classes? Might be interested in making one of their races if I can. Northern Nats are on my schedule also for sure, so something in late June or early July I could maybe work into the schedule.

June is a busy month. I think July is wide open. Our dates are limited to early spring or Late summer/early fall due to the pond being part of a public park that allows swimming. The township doesn't want to close the pond down to swimming for an entire weekend in July or August. I'm sure there are other clubs that run into similar issues. Josh-

Mark were in Tilbury Ontario (between Chatham and Windsor). We are a small club and this will be our first one if we can get it together. Most of the members run gas boats.. Tony J

I will keep an eye on this then. Looks like it's 8 hrs from me according to mapquest...London usually takes me about 7 hrs, so that's not too bad. If I can get time off the weekend you guys do this I will try to go!

Is the Date for the Dayton race still up in the air?

Gas on Saturday and nitro on Sunday for the first London race only. The Northern Nats will be both gas and nitro over the 2 days.
