You guys forgot a couple of things,,,,

STRESS

Cholesterol

My cousin had his first at 35, he is now 45 and had 7. Got 8 kids (loves that Vitamin V) still wonders what causes them.

Find a way to control stress at work or look for another job!

Cholesterol levels are my big problem, the numbers are through the roof! My regualr Doctor didn't seem to be overly concerned but I am. My Cardiologist said that he is going to take over now monitoring me and has put me on Zocor. I was having problems with side effects from the other ones that I was on so now this one seems to be working good so far. Yup, I'm about ready to fire my family Doc and find another one, he's already had one ass chewing from me and is due for another. He's not completely at fault because I have to watch what I'm eating also but it is a Family thing too.

Stress, yeah. I told my kid that rigor mortise will probably set in with my hands around his throat!

i think im in good luck, my grandpa is 92 and still chugging away and my grandma was 90 when she died. its nice to have a good family backround :p

Cleatus, thanks for the info and I do hope I dont end up with a blood sugar problem but like I say my eyes dont seem to be so good on the small print now??

Tim, Joe it really took me by surprise too and thats why I decided to post about my problem. You see I felt fine and had no previous problems then WHAM. Kinda crazy how you can have no clue as to anything being wrong.

My advice is to go get a check up if you feel you should and especially if you are male, smoke and are even a little overweight oh I about forgot drinking as well, easy to forget the ones you dont have a problem with.

Gene you get out to Ron O's and whip him back into shape quick or maybe you can get Eric to do it :D .

Ron

Hey Ron,

 Hmmmmm........ Like run a lap around the neighborhood once a day till goals are acomplished :p

Dang if I could get a video of that might be worth some money!!!!!

Gene :D

STRESS is a NUMBER 1 problem! It's just like they say STRESS CAN KILL!!! It the PRIMARY reason I no longer live in the Wash. D.C. suburbs (northern Va.). You can't begin to imagine how much things have improved since I left that B.S. behind. I feel better, I sleep better, plus the wife says it's nice to have the old me back, and coming from her THAT is the most important by far! :p

Thanks for sharing.. your heath is the most important thing you have.. with out it you have....well... just things around you.. most of those you can not control.

Now for you health that is something you have a ton of control with.

3 years ago i decided to get fit.. sure i was not fat but i liked my food and still do..i just pay attention to what i eat.. that in its self is a huge help.

If you are healthy and you drop dead.. so what you were going to go anyway.. its the quality of you life when you are sucking air that is the BIG DEAL..

I waters challenge

PARK YOUR CAR THE FURTHEST FROM THE DOOR AT WORK. AND RUN TO THE DOOR..

WALK 1/2 hour 3 times a week..

Im  preaching...sorry.

Grim

Ron, I'm glad to hear you are on the way to recovery. I lost my father @ 49. Stick with your commitment and you'll feel beter than ever.

Grim, you speak the truth. 2 years ago, my wife and I commited to a healthier lifestyle and never looked back. While I was never over weight, I ate red meat 3 times a day 7 days a week. I've cut it down to about 4 meals a week and added a lot of veggies.

I walk at least 2 miles a day, mostly at work. Instead of sending an e-mail to someone in my own office, I get up and talk to them face to face. I was amased when my pedometer indicated that I had walked so far in the course of a day.

My wife's story is the real deal. She lost over 50 pounds and has been running 5k's on a regular basis. Her goal is a triathilon by her 40th birthday.

My point is, it's all aboout will power. If you put your mind to it, you can do it.

"Hoofta! I guess this week is the week for your hospital visit........."

Must be an alignment of the planets or something...........

I've been spending the last few days recovering from being attacked by a very large dog, a 130+ lb. Akita to be exact. Belongs to my neighbor, I've pet that dog many times but this past Tuesday evening it put me in the hospital, he did a number on my right forearm. The dog is currently under isolation to be re-checked by animal control next Friday.......

I've done pretty good typing with one hand. :p

Gene I am with you dude! Everytime I open up this thread you learn of something that has happened to a fellow member or family thereof, this is getting wierd!

I in no way meant to start some sort of chain reaction to people getting ill or hurt! Is there a full moon? Maybe if we let this thread go it will end????

Don F sorry to hear of your mishap and I wish you a speedy recovery!

Mark W Thanks for your thoughts, I am doing fine so far!

I am sure I am out of the Sport 40 points by now having missed the last several races due to the Internats and all these other going's on.

Ron

Thanks Ron & of course same to you. I've got another appointment with the specialist this morning, hopefully with good news. At first they were talking about cutting me open along the forearm to relieve the pressure build up, something called "compartmental pressurization" or something close. It's when the blood goes in but can't get out & pressure builds up & damages surrounding tissue. I made it past that which is good 'cause it would have meant major rehab. Now the biggest fight is the infection caused by a certain bateria in a dog's saliva, the top of my desk looks like a pharmacy with all the pills I've got to take. Good part is there are some really good pain killers in the selection........... :p
