What kind of oil is everybody using in the oilers?

I just use synthetic motor oil like Mobil-1 5x-40, it really seems to stay on the shaft. A lot of guys like to use Castor oil as well

Mercury/Quicksilver gear lube+

Recently (last fall) switched to castor.

Chain saw bar oil, IF needed thin with ATF.

Caster makes a little mess in the boat but nothing a few squirts of acohol wont take care of
