'Bout ready to start building my rig and wanted to get some input from the masses.

Here's my wish list...

Athlon XP3200+ Barton Core (I know, it's getting outdated. But it's cheap, and I'm upgrading from a Celeron 550 :blink: )

Heatsink

Mobo

Hdd (maybe two in a Raid 0)

Couple of these

Gotta have speakers!

Got a bunch more on the wish list, but that's the big stuff. Haven't decided on a vid card yet. Any suggestions?

Thought about the 64's, but I really like the Dragon Mobo. Can't find anything like it for the 64 in the price range.

The heat sink has awesome reviews and let's face it...it looks cool!

I have a couple of these on my server here, and its realy cool !

Dave from Salisbury Power Pipes has seen this system ..

overclocked 4x and the system doesnt get ugly....

runs ~60'c when at max.

costs 150AU from local wholesaler ( approx 120usd)

I thought about water cooling...but something about mixing water and electricity scares me. :huh:

All I can recommend is if you use the HDDs in a Raid 0 configuration, you want to have a third for backup purposes. If one of your HDDs in a raid 0 dies, ALL of your data is gone with no hope of recovery.

Been there, done that, got the t-shirt. :angry:

I wanted speed for gaming but I guess 10,000 rpm should be plenty. Probably be better to mirror the drives in RAID 1.

Did you see the bling bling on the RAM? Too cool.
