Nope, the 7.5 one is wider and will definately not fit.

Hey Bob that would be great!!!!

What do I owe ya???

Thanks Mr. Jack,

I figured it was a dumb question. But I had to ask....

Who is the K&B parts man? I may need a

cable-Teflon liner & prop shaft soon!!!!

do you guys really run copper tubing in place of the Teflon sleeve?

I think I remember reading about that somewhere....

No problem Richard. You don't learn if you don't ask questions.

As for a K&B parts supplier, I'll let Bob answer that one. :)

Hey Riche!

Let's see...........

The K&B plastic arm (this one is new)is $4.

The alum. one I have is used. They don't make them anymore...........

I guess $4 will do for this "vintage collector's item"(lol)..........

E-mail your address to me at : [email protected]

You can just put $4 in an envelope and mail it to me.

let me know which one you want....

Oh yea!

about the copper tube thing........

I know somebody makes a stainless steel tube for flex shaft.

I'm no expert on the subject, but I've never heard of copper. seems it would be too soft.

I'm sure someone has tried it.

the teflon tubes are about $3, the stainless ones are about $7.......

the only certified expert I've talked to about flex shaft tubes says the stock teflon tubes are the way to go. I'm sure there are those that would argue which is best........ does your lower unit have a lubrication hole in the edge of the top plate where the motor is joined to the lower unit? you should lube this with something after every run. I use 50w motor oil in a pump oiler. Everyone has their favorite lube, but you should use something............

If your lower unit does not have a lube hole, it's not hard to add one. I can e-mail pics if you need........

About K&B parts.........

Several Intlwaters members are K&B dealers. put up a post asking for a dealer in your area and I'm sure someone will help you.

C'ya!

It's not copper you want but brass.. Uncle Jerry did an article some years back on how to make a brass liner.. I've made a few and they work great. I'll post the dimension needed once I get home from work today.

Hey there.

I was just going to ask the same question about makeing a brass prop shaft liner!

Just broke the shaft on my13cc K&B and it damaged the teflon liner. On my inboard tunnel it runs brass with no problems so whynot do the same on a OB?

Also whats the secret to making shafts last longer as this one only lasted 2 tanks and the moter is not even at 100% Yet.

Shane.
