Hey Tracy,

Here are a coouple of links with fair pics of the Hawaii Kai III U-8. I'll try for the U-100 as well. Starting a new project?

BTW, Great race for District 12 and all who were there. I did not want to jinks it but, NO ONE was hit or even bumped the entire weekend. A tribute to scale boats AND good driving.

Have you emailed the station and asked them if they have any photos on file for the U-100? They have a web page and may have some old promo stuff around. Might be worth a try.

I ran the Hawaii Kai for a while. Its a display trophy now.

David Newton has some good pics including a nice close up of Jack Regas in the boat.

Roger Newton's plans show you where to lay the rough strip on the hull which some people do not do. He has the paint codes also in PPG. Tropical Rose and Coral Mist.

Depending on which year you run will depend on the tail section graphics.

Be careful when you get the numbers from your graphics company. The U-8 is supposed to be the same color as the cowl and its not a color graphics people can get. You are best to get white numbers and paint them.

Also, any pics you download from the Internet sites, make sure that you can separate the museum display boat from an R/C boat from the real thing. I made that mistake when I painted my cock pit area.
