RC boat entry fees are still low compared to other things. Run a road race lately? $25 to $35 then run your butt off hoping to win something in your age bracket, but they give nice little awards. I just went kayak racing this past weekend, $40 entry. After the race we had a free lunch and they gave out nice medals. I say if the money is there then do good awards. If not then why not do some nice 8x10 certificates. Easy to frame and hang on the wall.
