Off topic... Need a 12 volt water pump

I need a 12 volt water pump, needs to have a inlet and outlet(barbs or threaded), not the submersible kind...

looking for anything between 100GPH to 400 GPH

Anyone got something laying around? I need it cheap for a project im working on.

Try a windshield washer pump. Local auto parts store. Ray Duh didn't see the 100 gph. try www.northerntool.com

yeah, Ive got a couple windshield washer pumps, they wont do the task I need...

I can get them off of ebay for around 50-60 bucks, but this is for one of those projects that it might work and it might not work...I didnt want to spend 60 bucks to find out...lol.

The pump that I need will probably range in size from a coke can to a mason jar. (now that's some cornfield thinkin' aint it?)

RV's use these pumps for their water system... anyone got an old unused RV sitting somewhere?

James.... Bein in Germany, this'll be tough.... Get a livewell pump from a full size boating dealer, or, you can try a pet store and get a filter powerhead, they step down from 110 to 12 volts..... I use both to keep chubs and bluegills alive for catfishin'...... the other hobby...... mike

I am with mike, bilge pump or bait pump like mentioned. Any boat place should have them and they are prolly going to be even more GPH than 400

Are you building a water to air intercooler James? A friend of mine used a 12V bilge pump for that - works great.

Tim, nothing that cool... im making a camp shower for my offroad vehicle (truck), My wife and I, along with some other offroaders have been going offroading on some cool alpine trails in France lately. A hot shower is VERY nice to have after a day of hiking and 4 wheeling. I use a homemade heat exchanger that runs parallel with my cooling system to heat the water. I have a 10 gallon water tank that im gonna mount under the truck. You can buy these systems (from Australia actually) but they are pricey, so I decided to build my own.

We use Shurflo pumps in motor home conversion. They may be a little more than you want to spend. A couple things to consider are:

pressure, the pump you are looking at only has 10psi

tank capacity, all shower heads and such are regulated to a max of 2.2gpm (or something like that). So the pump you are looking at will probably drain you tank in under 5 minutes.

If you can mount your tank over head you can do with a lesser pump. Something like the airator pumps in the marine section of Walmart might work. Or, If the tank is overhead you could just use gravity. The sun would also provide some heat for you.
