Notch on the top of the cylendar sleve. What is it for?

Does anyone know what the notch in the top of the cylendar sleeve is for?

I believe it is there for aligning the sleeve correctly into the engine. The notch lines up with with another notch on the block, and therefore the ports are exactly where they are supposed to be.

I beleive you're talking about the set pin which correctly lines up the ports with the fuel channels in the casing. There should be a notch in the casing as well.

Ya thats to line up the ports there should be a pin in the head to keep the sleave from moving
