Has anyone used NEODYMIUM MAGNETS for attaching cowlings or other items?

Interesting idea.

You would have to cushon the magnets as they are brittle. Also they need to be coated or they will corrode.

Other than that they should work. I use them to hold the grills on my custom home speaker designs. Strong little buggers.

Somebody is selling them over at Jim's RCBD. I think that Phil Thomas was messing with them a couple of years ago.

Yes they work great on a insane mono here and you can get them at insane boats too.

Chris Herzog is the one that is working with the magnets. He was telling me about it the other day and I must say that I think that it is a good idea. This is not Chris's first boat race and he has been around the block a few times. I feel sure that in a few years that everyone will be doing magnets on their cowls and they will look back on day that Chris introduced them to us.
