Went to my neurologist Monday and she was alarmed to find out that the battery in my neurostimulator is almost depleted, this will be the third battery in four years. When the battery voltage reaches 2.6 volts, the unit will shut down! Right now the voltage is at 2.63 volts. This time I will get a rechargeable battery, that will use a rubber pad charger. The bad news is that unit alone costs $50000 plus the cost of the surgery. The total cost will run about $100000. I am on Medicare, so most of the cost should be covered. The surgery should be next week.
