Hi guy's, as stated above I picked up two 3.5 Octura O/B mounts for the two REK

lowers I bought. The REK utilizes the 3/16ths pin (don't have any of those either)

but the major problem is that the Octura mount (where the pin goes thru) is offset

(vertically) to where it's too much right side up or up-side down.

I have been using the PB's mount with the Thunder Tiger "pin" fitted cause I have

been using the TT lower for various car engine powerheads.

The PB mount "pin boss" is centrally located (vertically) so the off-set is not a

problem. Is there a mount like the PB that uses the 3/16ths pin? The PB mount

has the correct height on the pin boss to fit the space available in the REK.

Anyone?

Im not 100% sure what your asking, atleast I dont think, but....

Have you tried the Dubro mounts? I have used the bracketry from those and made my own mount peice out of nylon with whatever vertical and length offset that you want. Other than that, I use the Hi-Jack mounts.

THIS is what im refering to. Something tells me this will give you the same problem though? I know Grimracers mounts had the pin boss centered vertically on the mount, but of course they are not available anymore..... you still could make your own mount peice if you have nylon.

Here is an example of what I mean, its from my old SAW boat, never mind the actual picture it was a joke from a long time ago.

Yo Top! I was hoping I didn't have build more sh1t,,but I guess i'm gunna have

do it . The nylon section on your "joke" motor mount has the "vertical offset"

I was talking about. The PB mount was the one I wanted but I don't think

they can be had anymore either.

Hyperprod has one but it needs a seperate mount to give it the angling feature

should have bought more of the PB's when i had the chance, Fock!

I kinda thought that was what you were refering to.

I assume you dont want to drill new holes in the transom?

How about the Dubro? is offset a little, but not completely.

(PS, the prop was the joke, the mount actually works great!..lol)

Heres what I used I had a stock K&B hinge and a piece if 3/16 drill rod. I believe the mount is an Octura 3.5. I had to machine a little off of the rek lower to get the hinge to pivot smoothly. I havent ran the boat yet but it looks like it will work.I can't post a pic on this post they are to big so I pu them in my gallery.

Look at pics two and three to see it. Hope it helps.

Thanks for the input guy's,

I got it to work on the XTR,, probably a good boat for the Rossi/REK combo.

I wanted to see how it stacked up against my club presidents XTR/Rossi

set-up.

Only three more boats to fill-up with new motors :) Thats just awful, yeah?
