Hi all, my next big project will be a Twister 24 catamaran with outboard.

I will do that project together with my friend Jan Ilmer (Jan is the designer of the Waterland Scale Tunnels). He makes the CAD design and machines the plug. I will make the mold and finally make a carbon fiber hull.
It will get a DIY outboard with 6S setup.
I will start a separate topic for that project.

As a learning experience for this upcoming project, Jan borrowed his mold of a vintage F1 tunnel cowl with open cockpit.

I applied 4 layers of wax and a PVA coat.
I made paper templates of the cockpit section and the back side and copied them on the glass weave.

On the sharp edges I applied thickened epoxy with micro balloons. Finally, I added 1x50gr, 1x80gr and 1x 110gr glass weave.

I will let it cure and then it's fingers crossed to see how the cowl comes out the mold.
I actually don't have a F1 hull which fits this cowl 😅. I might have to build one (Jan Ilmer has a great design for that). This is Jan's boat with this cowl:
