Getting ready to install the new pistin and sleeve in an early, (about 1988), 11cc outboard. Are there any simple mods to the exhaust ports I can do before instalation??

Run the engine first to see how well it performs before you make any modifications. Then if you are not happy with it, modify it. Make small changes and only one change at a time. Then, run it again. This way you can see what the change has done for you.

A lot depends on what class you plan to race it in. If you don't race or run in the NAMBA stock class, Upgrade the engine with a light flywheel and late model carb. Otherwise consider removing the bar in the exhaust, retiming the ports, and all the other engine modification details. Be sure you can find a tuned pipe for the engine before you start modifications.

You can also use sleeve shim under the sleeve, easy and fast. You will be surprise with this little mod.

Yves.
