K&B .67 / 7.5 outboard flex cables

i have bolth outboards i bought a new cable last year to have a spare well i needed it today through it in and was readdy to go threw the boat in and it just sat there came home and pulled the cable it was in perfect shape so i went to the 7.5 and pulled the cable well to my suprise the new cable was at least 1/4 inch shorter so i was just wondering if there was a bad batch of cable s out there now when i got the cable it was in a sealed K&B bag also can someone give me the correct length of a good cable also the best place to get new cables

The best place to get new cables is from Kris Flynn on here. http://www.intlwaters.com/index.php?showtopic=39932

1/4" is a lot to make up for, but sometimes you can put a ball bearing or a grubscrew etc inside the propshaft assmbly before inserting the cable to space it out a little. Personally, I'd get a longer cable.
