Gen 4M flow meter for sale. This was GEN-2 just recently upgraded to GEN-4M. I build a new flow meter in old box. Unfortunately, box has a small cosmetic imperfection. The full 100% warranty.

Asking $150 plus shipping fee. Boris

If this unit has the compensator configuration I will take it. Compared to fixing a boat that just got run over that little crack is small potatoes

GEN – IVM TWO AIR PUMP FLOW METER MANUAL

The principal unit of this flow meter is an extremely efficient miniature air pump powered by a rechargeable 3 cell 1300-1500 mAh, Lipo Battery pack whose output to power the air pump is controlled by a very accurate voltage regulator which produces a steady, even volume of air. The regulator is preset to 5 Volt. The flow meter is mounted in a sturdy, hinged wooden box for ease of use. This flow meter does not need calibration. The dial gauge is an aneroid, the same as used in blood pressure monitors.

The kit includes a LIPO charger-balancer and a LIPO battery monitor.

The LIPO charger-balancer should to be connected to DC 12-14 V, 1.2. A power supply (not included) or to a starter 12V battery. The new flow meter design is targeted for use on big motors. In order to get more air flow, the regulator can be set to 6 Volt and air flow will increase by 40%

COMMON USES

This flow meter will help you to preset the needle on your engine carburetor and also to check the range of adjustment for a third channel needle if your carburetor is so equipped. Settings vary from one carburetor to another depending on engine, prop, boat or model car, weather conditions, type of fuel & other conditions

When you use flow meter to tune up .12-.40 the airflow is too big and your reading wills rich 160-200 mm. In this case I recommend disconnecting one of two air pumps (connector on the top or toggle switch at the bottom of panel) and working with pressure below 120 mm. This action makes flow meter more accurate!

IMPORTANT: Keep flow meter out of direct sunlight.

The flow meter is your tool, but not Boss. Your experience is priceless. Trust you experience and keep records of what you are doing. The Flow Meter is sensitive to atmospheric pressure, air density, temperature and humidity. The same position of the needle may give a different reading depending on current air condition. You must adjust the needle to compensate. It wont be 100% right, but very close.

HOW TO USE THIS METER

1) Check the condition of battery using battery monitor on BALANCER PLUG. Fully charged battery is 12.4-12.6 V Lowest working condition is 11.1 V (loaded). Use the monitor to assure that flow meter will work properly.

Do not close air outlet or clamp outlet tubing.

2) Connect tubing to fuel inlet on carburetor. Open the throttle 75% or more.

3) The Flow Meter gauge will now give you a reading of the current needle setting achieved by running your boat, model car.
Mark down this reading. This reading now becomes your base for future needle settings.

4) The next time you want to run your boat, model car – just hook up the meter to the carburetor & adjust the needle to your previously marked base setting. Your engine will then run exactly as before when you established your base setting all other things being equal.

5) If you make any other needle adjustments to achieve better performance of your engine, you obviously have changed your base setting & you will need to take and record this new base reading.

FYI:

This Flow Meter is sensitive to atmospheric pressure, air density, temperature and humidity. The same position of the needle may give a different reading depending on current air condition. You must adjust the needle to compensate. It won't be 100% right, but very close.

Good Luck. Boris
