I got some fiberglass tubes from a kite manufacturer. They are called sky shark. Very neat stuff. Perfect for .12 to 21 size riggers. It is comparable in stiffness to the rod supplied with my ff.12 kit but much lighter and somewhat smaller. With some light sanding the smaller dia will nicely fit into the larger. It is not overly expensive either. :p

LOl good point. I'll let you know, but since it would be going through two pieces idon't see a problem.
 
I been using carbon rods I bought at a kite shop in San Diego Ca for many years now and never had a problem with them..The Kite shopes carry a large verity of sizes ( Dia. ) that can meet your needs..I fly Kits once in a while here in Manteca and these kites can pick you up if you don't watch out..So I know that the carbon rods are verry strong..I use mine for the Rudder puch rods on my scales and Sports boats...
