Mate, I'm well, looking forward to coming down next week, hopefully the little one is over her dose of the german measles and the whole family will be coming.

I know that the shaft comes through the centre section but this thing rides with the nose in the air so technically if it is level with the bottom when the boat is flat, when the nose is in the air the prop will be below the centre section.

Anyhow boat looked really good at the last club meeting.

I won't be the CD next week, So I can do some "socialising" this time! It's going to be wierd having no TJ in X mono and no Grub in 1/8 scale this year......

Sorry to hear the Bub was sick - and hope she is on the mend.

The pics of the boat in action look great - looks just like an F1 up on plane. I'll let someone else in some position of authority decide whether it's a tunnel, a mod VP, A mono, a hydro, thunderboat etc. - I'm done with that sort of thing ruining the fun I have with r/c boats.

TJ and I might not be entering "our classes" but we will still be there.

Its gonna be good having Jordo and White Ice there as well. We like watching their "domestics".

The Insane cat has a pod running to the back and not a pad which Is a running surface. The pad will be lower than the sponsons. That Is what you call a mod vp (modifiyed vee production). The mod vp would still be thrown In the hydro class because there Is no mod vp class unless you go to the world tunnel champs once a year.

Anyway, I am all for a mod vp hull and I dig this austrailian Inboard mod vp to. There needs to be more.

I have a 40" mod vp made for IB or OB power. Mainly for IB.

gas is for the car to get to the races, batteries are for tx's & rx's, NITRO IS FOR RACING! just kidding :p   ! cool looking boat, very nice build. just not sure about a "fake" outboard ? i understand the reasoning, hardware & such is cheaper, simpler & more readily available to do an ib version. does the dummy ob turn with the rudder? that would really complete the illusion.

Like to say Hi to everyone here.

Newbie in the forum. I can't agree more on the reasoning sir. Have a look at my IB tunnel built in 2004 and molded in 2007.

I apologize for the oversize font used. Try to reduce it just didn't work. Perhaps moderator can do something about it. ?

Hi Mark,

Its BG again. in lane 1.

On your mark.--- Video does not do justice to your boat. Kind of underexposed or was the weather brewing for a storm ? Congratulation for good video clip of the test run.

Get Setttt! ----From my observation of the run on the clip. First run with cowling attached, looks promising. Second run without cowling better as the craft float a little more and moving a little faster. It tells me cowling is a little heavy or the aerodynamic on the cowling presses down on the rear half of the craft lowering the prop at high speed and hence less rpm and a tad slower speed. Third test also without the cowling and a kick back trim adjustment made. End result - not as good as the second test.

Gooooo ! ---- .Noted that when you get towards the turn pin , you slowed down a tad which allows the craft to settle in a little allowing most part of the right sponson to become the turn fin . Hitting the apex of the turn , you gassed the power gently and you exit the turn flat out . Craft look well under control and thats safe for racing.

Another time you came in to the pin on the right pretty fast , craft did not settle in and you gas it hard again at apex for the exit and saw, the craft got out of shape a little in the turn and it also affect the straight run that followed.

For oval course racing, the craft would be okay given a close control at the turns . In a tight circuit like ours at home with five turn pins to form a shallow M course, this craft won't last that many lap. A 150 and a 120 degree turn in choppy waters at some speed likely to cause a barrel roll.

Mark, this is just my observation and to conlude, IMHO, you should try and get the sponson to grip more by lessening the centre pod depth especially towards the transom

Hope this is of some help mate. Keep up the good effort. Latiff
