Finally got around to doing the big engine.first piece. Still have some finish work on it and drill the bolt holes.

Very cool! I'm actually looking to do.the opposite, make a water cooled head for my losi engine in my boat. Just curious, why change from watercooled to air cooled on a boat?

What kind of boat? Is the engine enclosed?
What percentage fuel?
There are things that need dialed to run no water.
But most nitro boats are
Over cooled.

Its the mono hull I have. Engine is a losi mach 427 out of a buggy. The top of the boat is open and gets plenty of air flow. I wrapped some 1/8 od aluminum tube around thr first few fins just to have something. Currently I'm running 25% nitro with around 12% caster. It's a mix of 30% nitro with 9% caster and 20% nitro with 14% caster.

I’m a mono it will be harder
To use just air and the low nitro makes it harder to run air.
Atleast in the beginning I’d use water and get it really running well.

I don't even know where to find that high if nitro content fuel. I know the guy I got the engine from runs 30% in his buggy with the same engine. I also understand a boat loads the engine much different. Are you recommending 65% with air cooled head?

If anyone can make this work you certainly can! You are a man of many talents...

Anxious to see it run in person out at Copans pond.

Marty
