Well, got the 3rd scale kit for this winters build extravaganza! haha. This is for a guy most of you know. He is setting this up for the Namba nats this year. It will be another FE build like the Spirit of Qatar. This kit is what I am calling a full on Extreme series kit. Its a true 3 piece build (build the sponsons separate from the center on a flat board), its got all the tricks I personally can add. As you can see, the cockpit area is already preshaped to work with the RC boatcompany "school bus" cockpit. I plan on doing this hull as the 8700 as well for use with the Smokin Joes/ Winston U-10 cockpit as well...just need to purchase the cowl. This is an interesting build, as the 93 Circus backup hull is relatively unknown, or just not done much, or ever. I personally may build this hull for myself down the road as its a great looking boat, using the school bus cockpit, and U-9 Exide cowling. Here is the kit, build will follow shortly. Another note about the Elam 171 and this 8401 Extreme kit, is the hull size is reduced to the small end of the length spectrum to minimize overall weight in the hull. Enjoy, Mike

Are your extreme series build kits just for electrics or for nitro too, with all the large lightening holes in the bulk heads and less of them? It is nice to have the floor pan included in the kits!! As usual a very good looking kit and easy to build!!

Brad

Brad, They are for both. There are not less frames, just thinner in some cases. The lightening holes can always ben removed in areas where a side mount motor mount needs to be added. There are easy ways to get around that for sure! Thanks, Mike

One of my favorite Circus hulls if for nothing else than the obscurity. I will be watching this build with much interest.

OK, These pics are from Thusday night, Saturday morning, and Sunday afternoon. About 6 hours total so far into this build. As you can see, its coming together very nicely! Cowl fitment is great, sponson toy tab alignment is spot on. Carbon veil for the floor and Carbon fiber in the floor in spots that need more support is done. This is one of three scale builds and 2 tunnel builds I have going on right now, so I am going to do as much as I can when I can, so hang tight! Mike

I will be back on this build in the next day or two starting the sponson sheeting. Had a massive amount of kit orders to fill, and cowlings to lay up that have pushed things back. Mike
