That stinks . We also made one back in the day using a airplane engine mount. We went up to Graves Hobbies and found one that fit the width of the engine. Then we mounted the motor on it backwards and used a square drive collet nut. Ran the screws to the lower up from the bottom side of the lower unit mount surface. Worked pretty good.

Gabe made me one for my RS EVO that is the lawless style and will bolt to a KB or lawless. You will need a square drive collet though.
Joern and Alan Elzer make bell-housing styles that will not crack like the lafleur style did

Is anyone making an adapter mount to allow the use of a CMB 7.5 on a K&B outboard lower, that is not the bellhousing type?
Greg, any particullar reason you don’t want the bellhousing style conversion?
If you change your mind I have one ready to go, and I will include a baseplate for Lawless drive.
That baseplate is not necesary because the housing mounts directly to K&B boltpattern.
It just looks nicer because it is machined to same shape as the housing.
Now this conversion does not require modification of any parts, it is pretty much bolt on. (You will need to install bearing though)

Thanks for the reply ,what you have in the pics is very nice, but with the Irwin mount there is no modification , and no issue with starter belt clearance.
Thanks
Greg

Quite a few people bought that conversion that Irwin built several years ago. We had 2 of them at the time so i would think some are still out there somewhere. Good luck.
