Re:.12 SAW Rigger: Project Gillmanator/Updates

If its cool with you Tom, Post away !!!!!!!

Here is what I will be using, hardware and setup tips:

Engine: 1st run and setup, Dynamite .12 SPD

2nd run and speed attemps Trinity/Picco .12

Strut and rudder: Octura OC6STR-150A, This is a inline

setup, but you use a threaded

standoff to mount the rudder to the

left. .150 flex with 3/16" propshaft

Props: Octura V937, 1938, 2137

Fuel Cell: Power Surge Racing, The Grimracer's of course!

Header and pipe: MAC pipe stock no. 1110

Mac header 2040 or HPI header

Turnfin size and location: Pending, still in design stage

Setup tips: Set strut so that rear of tub is .95" above

your setup board, Resulting AOA is 5.5 with

2 degrees down on sponson tops and

1 degree down on tub top.

Re:.12 SAW Rigger: Project Gillmanator/Updates

ok You got me interested, I put mine on the charger last night, I'll be back later with some high speed stories. I've got a piece that Frank Bonano built for me, with a .15 fantom motor and a mip pipe, some octura hdw. and some really tiny servos. the whole thing weighs about as much as the prop off a gas boat.

Re:.12 SAW Rigger: Project Gillmanator/Updates

Hi Mike,

I sent Frank some pics of mine, He is really wondering just how fast these little buggers will go. Got mine ready, If I get a break in the weather I will run it first of next week. Know what ya mean on the weight, Be sure and let us know your results, I would really like to get

more people interested in the .12 riggers.

Re:.12 SAW Rigger: Project Gillmanator/More Updates

First run results, was going to back these up with a second set but the weather is not being reasonable,

Dynamite .12 Spd (43.5 and 44.2) Dial in

Modded Trinity/Picco .12 (47.5 and 49.2) Speed Attemps

Best results with Octura 1938

Have not run the V937 yet

More to come when the weather makes up its mind what its going to do, 60 degrees yesterday and its low 30's with snow for tonite YUK!!!!

Re:.12 SAW Rigger: Project Gillmanator/More Updates

too windy here to run but it felt like a 60 mph day.

Mike

Got in a couple final runs with the modded Trinity/Picco .12,

( My buddy wanted it back to do some testing himself)

Anyhow peeked and tweeked and lean as I dared to go,

Final Runs best average was 53.5 mph. any more and I think the rod would have let go, really revin in never, never land!!!!

Gene ;D

Anybody wanting a set of the plans just let Tom know,

and he will fix ya up.
