IMPBA Sport 20/40 2012 Rule Proposal, Author Needs Input Please

Are you serious Grim? I don't want to unload on you here, but your part of the reason I would never run FE again. You and Darin Jordin and the clique with your 100 classes and selling your boats and hop up crap. Get real....now your trying to ruin a historic nitro class, what, do you have a...

IMPBA Sport 20/40 2012 Rule Proposal, Author Needs Input Please

Sounds like some electric guys trying to take over the Sport 20 class. I am not an active member and it's none of my concern. I come over here and I read this and I remember why I quit organized racing. :(

IMPBA Sport 20/40 2012 Rule Proposal, Author Needs Input Please

Amazing stuff, you want to change sport 40 into some class with outrigger hardware and prop 2 inches behind the transom? I would say NEVER do this.

    New IMPBA fast electric rules...

Many of those rules were written by Jeff Stevens many, many years ago, the Paradox was the first 27T motor that could be opened. So, that's why it's in there and it needs to be upgraded. As for the 700 motors, I guess nobody has looked into changing that. I expect that Doug will get...

FE Class Suggestions for IMPBA Trial Period.

I think the IMPBA should go this way, it's more simple and more straight forward. Maybe someday I'll get into LiPoly racing, for now I am going to CMBC and race the old fashion way though. I have all the equipment and NIMH costs much less in lower end classes. goodluck Paul, you have some...

FE Class Suggestions for IMPBA Trial Period.

All of these open motor classes? IMPBA has no LSH, LSM, OPC, what are the motor rules? Is LSH and LSM sprint or 4 min or what exactly?

    Lipo Lowdown From My POV.

"In my eyes the introduction of lipo cells is like finding the golden goose. We can compete at the same or higher levels than the nitro and gas boats, talk about a pool of prospective FE boaters." Now you have lost me, you want FE to grow from Nitro and Gas? Is that growth? :(

    Don F, Debate Here.

Thanks for the info, I think we need to look at 700 motor and N1 series for these cells. I started a new thread. thanks again, Steve

Maybe to power your receiver or something.... Those are not high current cells.

    Classes that are still NIMH

How many times have you did voltage checks on new IB4200 cells and found them different? I just complete two 36V packs for a robot team and both packs are exactly 39.0V! These cells have been here for a few weeks and they have not self discharged.

    Classes that are still NIMH

Alan asked this question and I followed.... I am not sure, how many classes run 70-80 amps continuous? Does anyone have that data on Eagle Tree or DRP? Is that for N2? Do you have data for LiPoly packs as well? Can you lay out what each class does? thanks for your help on this. Maybe we...

    Classes that are still NIMH

4 random IB3600 cells that have been cycled many times, left totally discharged for weeks and tested again at 35 amps. (yes, I can run them at 70 if someone wants it) 410 1.202 411 1.203 413 1.204 422 1.200 410 is 3986mah at 35 amps. These are your durable cells of choice for NIMH...

    Don F, Debate Here.

Excellent points....looks like the IMPBA is in a different direction completly, good or bad. I think this thread is dead. All the points are out there now. We know that some classes as going LiPoly and we know that people are aware of safety issues. Just be safe and let's move on. thanks...
