I recently went to an oiler wanting every last bit of a free wheeling shaft and it so far is working well - only downfall is remembering to open and close the valve to help with excess oil seepage inside the boat

Not a very good photo, but here's one made from CF tubing and plate that came in a Crapshooter Twin. Looks pretty simple to fabricate.

The Mercury 2-4-C grease has PTFE in it. So does STP oil treatment. One of the best friction reducers.

I use Stp oil treatment fill before run stand hydro vertical and run heat. I don't remove flexi at all.

This season we're hoping to try the Lucas Synthetic Oil Stabilizer- maybe even blend in some ultra fine graphite powder we received from a machine maintenance guy at Dow. Its viscosity appears similar to castor, whereas their standard Oil Stabilizer viscosity is much heavier, akin to STP.
Mineral Spirits is a great agent for adjusting viscosity, too.

I run Lucas standard stabilizer in the ‘07 Cummins Turbo Diesel…it’s good stuff!
Even added some in the manual 6 speed and transfer case.. I run all Royal purple synthetic lubes from bumper to bumper.
If viscosity is an issue, I think Royal purple has a synthetic 50w manual gearbox lube that may work for you…

Always had good luck with Lucas products. For engine oil, we've been faithful to Mobil 1.

Tom are you say 2-4-C is NLA or STP with ptfe?
I’m just getting to my last tube of 2-4-C, it’s stickered $4.25. I bought a bunch from a marina going out of business.
I grease for assembly and use oil after the 3rd heat. It’s all messy.
Any one tried Rislone Engine Treatment?
