Need help getting the crankshaft out of my OS 21RG-M

Yes! Taking the sleeve out is the key. Thank you! Thank you! Jackl, I'll keep the torch in mind if the rod doesn't let go of the crank pin. I've got a small torch and a brand new bottle of propane so I'm set. Now if I could just get that flywheel off!

Need help getting the crankshaft out of my OS 21RG-M

Okay, I'm a dummy. I was 100% sure that I oiled this new engine up real well after bench running it in my boat a couple of yrs ago. I lost interest and recently decided to mess with it again. I've got the rear cover off and the bearings are rusted up and it just looks terrible inside :( ...

New bearings for my practically brand new OS 21RG-M

Thanks for all the responses, guys. I tried doing a search for him and I came up with a big goose egg. I'll try again and see if I have better luck. posted by camaroboy383, I was pretty upset about the bearings going bad so I just put the boat back up on the rack where its been sitting for...

New bearings for my practically brand new OS 21RG-M

I've been out of RC boating for about 2 yrs and I just blew the dust off of a boat that I finished building and never ran on the water. The OS 21RG-M in it was only run on the stand about 2 yrs ago. Now, I honestly thought that I'd oiled up that engine after the bench top running. However...

Jim's dock on the move finally?

I just tried several times with no success. I wasn't sure if it was my internet or computer so I came here to Intlwaters because I knew if it was a Dock problem, people would be discussing it. I guess I just need to be patient.

    HELP!! another computer virus.....

Everyone always seems to shy away from reformatting their computers. If you either regularly back up your important pictures and documents or you don't have important stuff on your computer, a reformat is always an option. A very, very good option. Just this past week, I reformatted my...

WTB unbuilt Dumas DV20 wood kit

Just testing the waters to see if anyone has an old school Dumas DV20 kit that they'd like to sell. I know that I can buy this kit directly from Dumas but I don't think that its worth near what they want for it  . Anyway, like I said, just testing the waters :D . Danny

    Engine Guru's I need help

My brand new OS RG-M 21 had the exact same thing. I installed it in my Dumas SK Daddle and put the electric starter to it and it seems to run just fine. I'm still in the break-in phase but I don't think that there is anything wrong with those "clicks" that you're getting.

    24V for starter?

Thanks, Mike! It sounds like 24V is what I'm going to be trying soon.

    24V for starter?

I've got an older Sullivan Model 4 and it'll run just fine on 24V although I've never tried it. I've always had trouble with nitro boat motors using smaller starters and 12V. If I pull the batteries out of my two Waverunners and wire them in series, will there be a significant advantage? I...

Trying to start a brand new OS21RG-M

Tim, I think that I'm going to give that method a try :D . One question, though; don't you want to put your finger over the carb while cranking to draw fuel into the engine, not over the muffler outlet? Am I misunderstanding something here?
