1. Rudder is too long like Ron said but it also looks too large for a 40 hull. Almost looks like a 60 rudder and not a 40 sized one. Too long, thick and heavy.
2. Strut is too low. You have an oversized one too. Bring the strut up to about 3/4 below the bottom of the boat.
3. You have a huge amount of strut tube in the water. I have the smallest amount I can possibly have hanging below and outside of the boat as it creates drag. May want to realign it to reduce the amount outside of the boat.
4. You have a lot of big & heavy hardware hanging on the transom with no rear sponsons. How will it stay aligned to the water, and in a proper aero position, with all of that weight?
Suspect that these items are really slowing you down in a major way.
