Hi,

I took my 67 CMB apart and have a question about putting it back together. On the back of the drum which hole goes to the crankshaft pin? One hole is is all the way through to other is not.

Thanks

A simple way to tell if the drum (or even a disk) is in correctly is when the piston is at TDC the drum (or disk) should be open.

Note-If checking this way on a disk motor be aware that if the disk is in backwards it will still be open at TDC but the timings will be off.

I like to think when the piston is starting to go up it will suck fuel in and when the piston is going down the valve or drum will be closed to force fuel to the top of the piston to be used. Just another way of understanding what happens in the engine.
