Who is coming to the LA SAW?

Where is everyone staying?

or Where should we stay?

Anything planned for when the days are done, other than talking electrons, neutrons and nitro (gas does not count ;-))??

I know I am coming, I guess I better there if we are the hosts! The after hours depends on how much carnage needs repair or props need tweaking. We will be running from sun up ~6:30-7AM to sun down and slightly there after depending on how well you can see. It is tradition on the Sunday night after the event to head over to the local Carrows for a beer and prime rib.

The lake is about 45 minutes from LAX airport. There are several hotels in the area with varying comfort levels and costs. All are within 5 minutes of the lake. The Ramada is the best compromise of cost and quality.

Ramada South El Monte. Probably the best value and most comfort for the price. http://www.hotels.com/hotel/details.html?pa=1&pn=1&ps=1&tab=description&destinationId=1409658&searchDestination=South+el+Monte&hotelId=125356&arrivalDate=08-26-14&departureDate=08-29-14&rooms[0].numberOfAdults=1&roomno=1&validate=false&previousDateful=fals

Motel 6. The cheapest, but least comfortable. I would not recommend unless you are really on a tight budget. http://www.hotels.com/hotel/details.html?pa=4&pn=1&ps=4&tab=description&destinationId=1409658&searchDestination=South+el+Monte&hotelId=451586&arrivalDate=08-26-14&departureDate=08-29-14&rooms[0].numberOfAdults=1&roomno=1&validate=false&previousDateful=fals

The Doubletree. Higher end and overly expensive. http://www.hotels.com/hotel/details.html?pa=5&pn=1&ps=5&tab=description&destinationId=1409658&searchDestination=South+el+Monte&hotelId=122711&arrivalDate=08-26-14&departureDate=08-29-14&rooms[0].numberOfAdults=1&roomno=1&validate=false&previousDateful=fals

I will make an official post for the event over the weekend.

Tyler

Thank you Tyler, we certainly don't want to go tight on sleeping quarters...LA can be bad enough I hear ;-)

Found another comptitor is staying at the Town Center Inn, so that gets a bit higher on the list!

Kris

Just stay at the Doubletree inn the rest are well what should I say "Dunny"

Motel 6 is the lodge of choice for those who might seek post race companionship......

Or if you're looking to have your boat stolen. This place put a whole new meaning to sleeping with one eye open.....

I am reading between the lines here and thinking of companionship not actually wanted?

We won't be there for many hours of the day...just the 6-7 hours of sleep each night if we are lucky

The kind of companionship that you pay for......

The owners have gone to great lengths to improve the quality of the establishment and clientele in the past few years, but it would not surprise me to find that services are still available. The state of California has a policy which allows them to house welfare families in the less pricey motels and hotels, so it's often worth it to go for the higher quality places.
