OK racers, now that the IMPBA NItro Internats has concluded, the Fall Nationals hosted by the Charleston Model Boaters, Oct 10-12, will be opening up for registration in 2 phases. Carefully review ALL race details as noted on rcracingevents. It is your responsibility to ensure knowledge and compliance with the race rules. The registration phases are as follows:
Phase 1
For race CD's and CMB members ONLY, the race will be open on Thursday, June 26th, from 9 am to 7 pm, EDT. We have a group of very competent CD's that have agreed to serve and they will be entering early to ensure we get the best CD team in place for the race. If I have not contacted you by e mail in the past week, you will have to wait until phase 2. If you enter in this phase and are not eligible for entering, your registration will be deleted immediately.
Phase 2
For any that are not included in the phase 1 group, registration will be open up on Monday, June 30th, starting at 7 PM, EDT. To register, follow the details as noted:
1. There is a 6 class limit for all racers so carefully choose your classes.
2. Paypal payment (credit card can be used through Paypal) is MANDATORY to register, no exceptions.
3. There is a 225 boat initial limit in place. When we get to it I will shut down all classes and open up those which has a heat that is not full. When that is completed we will have over 325 boats.
4. Every class has either 1, 2 or 3 heats allocated per round. That allocation was based upon the past 3 Fall Nats races. Adjustments to classes will be made on the fly as needed.
5. If you cannot get into a class or the race, get on the wait list immediately. E mail requests ONLY will be accepted. No PMs through this site or Jim's Boat Dock or phone calls will be accepted. In past years almost all wait list requests were met by race time. E mail me at [email protected] to get on the list asap. The list is compiled by the receive date and time stamp and I strictly adhere to them.
6. When you try and get onto the registration website - rcracingevents, click on the "online race entry" ONCE and ONLY ONCE. Do NOT continue to hit refresh. Due to the heavy interest in the race last year, you guys continued to hit refresh and the system shut down. There were over 8,000 requests to get in the first 45 minutes. When Bill cleared out all of the pending requests, the site started working. Bill has upgraded the server and software to improve performance. But please follow the directions given so we do not repeat what happened last year. We appreciate the intense interest in this race and no race has this much attention or desire to attend. It is an honor to host the race.
If you can come and know you can then please enter. If you are entering with the hope to come, I am asking you to consider getting on the wait list instead. The past 3 races there has been about 10 or so racers that did this and ended up bailing out in the prior 2 weeks to the race. This makes us and replacement racers scramble to get in, take time off of work, get motel reservations, etc. It also does not allow racers that have entered to change classes to get a slot they wanted but the class was closed and sold out. Just think about it and be considerate.
One last thing. In each of the last 3 races, there have been about 6 racers that were no shows. No e mails, no phone calls, etc., nothing. Absolutely do not do this as it keeps other racers from getting into the race or adjusting classes. Notify me asap if you cannot come. You would not like this to happen to you so do not do it to anyone else.
John
