What fuel ??? (post # 1)

I am new to nitro engines and could use some help. First, I have a K&B 3.5 Outboard engine on a Prather Lap Cat I. When I bought it, the previous owner said they ran 15%. My local hobby shop says 30% would be better. Any better suggestions?

My other engine is a Magnum 40 on an airboat. I have no idea what fuel this should be running.

Any help is appreciated...

Nick

30 to 40 percent nitro is a good choice, makes good power, no needle worries, Just make sure the oil content is 18% for the K@B outboard.

I have run it in my .21 and .45 motors, outboards and inboards with no problems. Never ran a airboat or a magnum 40

5% to 10% for the Magnum will do the job. 30% + is a waste in an airboat.

Im with Tim on this one. Keep the nitro down and the oil up. Do not go over 15% nitro and stick to around 19 to 20 % oil.

Come to think of it, but with the magmum motor I would go 20% oil. I cant remember but the liner might be nickle plated.

Have fun
