Curious, how does the CMB .45 V-5 compare to the current .45 RS EVO, and .45 M-Line engines? No comparison? Close in performance?
The V5 supposedly has more torque, due to the under square bore/stroke ratio. However, theory can be somewhat deceiving.
I have run all 3 of the combinations mentioned in the same D Hydro.
What we found is the RS EVO platform can swing more prop.
Could this be due to the higher rotating mass, hence greater inertia, with the RS EVO platform?... that's what we tend to think.
We did add 2 looper window ports to the V5 (stock timing) in an effort to get more fuel per cycle into the chamber, and it seems to have increased torque significantly.
But, we need to test more with the bigger 2200 and 2300 series ABC's to comment further. Strut depth also plays a significant role, too
