I hear of a bunch of guys using these, but how much difference do they actually make in a .21 if any? Has anyone done a head to head comparison?

Thanks in advance!

While the crank should not touch the back plate, it most certainly does (along with the rod) in some applications.

I know the forces on the motor are different in a boat, but Aaron A ran a teflon backplate in his onroad motor once, it didnt last long haha. They added steel inserts for a reason.

In boats, I am sure they cannot hurt as my inboards all have the teflon plates.

I have a few of the orlic plates vrand new in packets if you are keen to test? Both 14 and 14.5mm versions.

Cheers
Kris
