Here is a recap of race 1 hosted by the Twin Cities Model Boat Club in MN.
First the dist 6 club did a bang up job of running the race. The drivers meeting was a little heated because of some noise issues but after a brief time all was well and the racing begun.
From what i understand the noise testing issue that was brought up at the meeting was handled during the racing and the information the dist 6 director was looking for was gathered. Good job TCMBC and racers.. Its hard to beat team work like that in any club setting.. The TCMBC always seems to work well together.
16 drivers entered 27 boats for a very nice start to the season.
The morning started out with great temps and light wind. The weather report was calling for increased clouds and rain for later in the evening.
As the day progressed the racing was great. The weather held out until about the third round and then the winds began to pick up. The water was in tough shape for some of the smaller boats but the larger boats were un-effected.
Some of the best racing on the day was the stock tunnels.. Race after race the boats were matched closely and swapping the lead was not uncommon. In a few of the heats the race would grab applause from the rest of the racers/spectators. Going in to the last round there was a 3 way tie for 1st and with the wind it was going to be a last round nightmare.
Here are the finishes as best I can gather.. more can be seen at www.tcmbc.org.
