stripping a wood boat and painting

I would like to strip a wood rigger and re paint > can I use a natural stripper on it or do I have to sand the clear and paint off?? would be easier to strip then sand

Soy Green polystripper works for me, then sand.

If the paint is not peeling off sanding maybe the way to go as paint strippers make a mess that you have to deal with.
