I used to get my starter belts from Tim Jones but I have not been able to reach him. Where do you guys get your starter belts?

Also, can you post pictures of how you keep the belt from touching the tuned pipe? I tuck it under the engine but if it came off during a run, the belt will melt onto the hot pipe.

Thanks,
k

You have to "train" your belts....

Take the belt and twist one side until it flips into a coil. Leave them sit that way in storage. Then went you put it in the boat, start the motor, you give it a little twist and it will coil right up again...

Some people also leave a cooling line off the head of the motor, start it up and lay the belt over the motor and stick the hose back on... I try not to do that in case I get a pit man unfamiliar with the boat...could cost you a motor..

Thank you all for your replies. I now have many sources for starter belts.
