Hello all...

We are finally moving house after 12 years in oir current location.

I am keen to see peoples workshop setups so I can get ideas for me new workshop I will be building.

Particularly those who build boats and how your machinery is setup.

I like the idea of a separate room/shop for the woodworking stuff that makes a mess, but lets see what others have done :)

Cheers
Kris

Can't post any pictures since my workshop would be my garage and it's full of everything EXCEPT room to work on boats.
One thing I would recommend is to install a dust collection system of some sort that you can use with all of your power tools. It will save you a lot of clean up time since you won't have nearly as much sawdust and wood shavings all over the floor as you would without such a set up. I presently use an 1100CFM(31.1cubic meter/minute) dust collector with a 4"(10.1cm) hose that I hook up to my various tools. You would be amazed at how much dust ends up in the bag instead of on the floor

Kris,

I have a room in my shop that is the "frameup" room.. its the wood working area of the shop.. and looks like this.
Go here

the double doors open to the outside so i can let the dust go that direction if needed.

The machine tools are in a separate room as well as storage. Then Dons Hobby Shop is in another area.

I got sick of a cluttered workshop, so I turned my garage into a man cave/workshop. The area behind the curtain is recessed and has a built in bench that holds my bandsaw, drill press, belt sander, and anything building related. I also have a smaller bench to tinker on boats if I'm not building. The opposite side of the garage has a rack that holds most of my boats, and most importantly, the beer fridge.

Too clean to be a boat shop. TV, cigar chair, wall art, beer fridge.... Just add stripper pole and you have a boat lounge! LOL
