Well I got the kit on Monday and today I would say that I’m really close to being done with it. Just waiting on a few more parts to get here and with any luck will be getting it wet on Sunday!

Thanks, I got a little ambitious just on the very front left corner of the tub but the rest of the boat looks great. Super easy kit to build tho, I enjoyed it.

Maiden voyage this weekend! I still need to put it all back together but I’m getting close.

Can you tell us the setup? Motor, ESC, packs? Mine runs mid-70s and 12 second laps.

.

Yea this isn’t anything like yours. I have all the stuff Joe recommends.

SSS 2960 Kv4200 motor
Flycolor 90amp ESN
3s 5200mah 50c from Common Sense RC.

I also have a couple 4s packs to play with.

Chris you have a good setup there. If you want additional speed just stick 4S power in there. That will put you in the upper fifties to mid sixties. "Jayt" may claim mid seventies and twelve second laps. But, not for many laps. It is probably a one shot wonder on 6S. And, notice that he is asking for the setup. I did pretty much all the initial testing for this boat with the prototype hull. That kind of speed is attainable. But, you will not like it. Believe me, I am always pushing the envelope. If you stay with 3S or 4S power it is a great boat. For its size it handles rougher water really well. Plus, it will turn on a dime and give you nine cents change back in the stock configuration. Just try to keep it as light as you can within reason and you will really like the boat.

One other note for you too Chris. It is definitely not necessary but, you may want to consider a wire drive. It will save you a little weight. And, it will reduced the load somewhat on the motor. It is a fairly easy conversion do do it later if you decide to wait.

I have a 24" JAE (12) converted to a 3S with a 3400kv Leopard. Runs low 50's on 3S using an N940 prop. Be careful going to 4S with a 4200kv motor. That's 62000 rpm no load and probably high 40's to low 50's rpm actual under load. Prop will be critical and range very narrow.
Going to a 3660 motor 2000-2600 kv on 4S would put you in a P/Limited hot rod. Mid 12's is realistic. Above 70mph takes so serious set up. The 26 is a great performing boat but above 60 it is not going to run much other than calm water. Have fun on your maiden voyage.

Tyler's flotation advise is a must on an FE rigger. I watched my 33 sponson tips slowly disappear while the retrieve boat was rounding up other casualties. If a sponson breaks off there is little to float battery and motor weight

I run 4S with a 2670 kV ARC 36-55-1.5 ducted fan motor in my JAE 21.
Best lap was 65.2 mph on GPS with an m445 (45.1mm dia. x 73.7mm COB pitch x 95.3mm cup).
Custom Mike Hughes turn-fin.
Custom fiberglass cowl.
This is a very fast, stable rigger that turns on a dime.
