Re-building 1/8 scale crackerbox!

Hi all i am in the process of stripping paint of a 1/8 scale crakerbox hull is 24 inch version . I am thinking of refinishing the hull deck and sides in 1/16 mahogany veneer and 1 oz fiberglass cloth and varnishing for natural finish . My question here is how much more weight would i be adding to the boat ! Regards Andris Golts.

I would guess around 6 - 7 ounces. Don't think it would impact the speed all that much. Might actually help stabilize the ride characteristics.
