I ran an A/S Cobra 45 in the early 2000's with a CMB 45 EVO Purple head. The sponson wood was popular. Very light and dense wood. Great boat for rough water that we typically raced on in the Midwest.

Thanks for reminding me the wood was poplar. It was very dense and yet very light. Think I will get a chunk and carve away a little. LOL

Coyote had protruding pointy front sponsons. Both boats were "low slung" when running
here's my brand-new, late 1980's, Coyote .80 "Long Wheelbase" kit. Don provided his angled, solid oak mounting block, w/vertical mounted rubber isolators, on which milled/drilled & tapped aluminum engine mounting plates are secured. This one was built for the Rossi R80 drum-valve marine.

Nice boat, send a video on the water, curious to see how the fin sheds water, none of mine are shaped exactly like that, mine usually come to more of a point or remain wide and flat at the bottom depending on what the hull demands.

yeah, I'll have to check. I believe there was a different turn fin that Don provided in the kit. The one in the image is a Tidewater supplied item.
