I bought a pipe off ebay because I wanted a muffled pipe it arrived today and the thing is a tank. weights 24.5 oz . what do most steel gas pipes weigh. If I go with the zippkits pipe does anyone have one they can weigh? I just cant think it would be good to have that thing hanging out the back weighing that much.

They make small canister mufflers that attach to the stinger of the regular pipe...only a few ounces, and work pretty good!

Can I ask where you found, and what you paid for that muffled pipe ? It actually looks like a nice pipe, and if you need to run on a pond that requires a quiet pipe, I don't think that extra bit of weight is going to be that noticable on a gas boat.

The pipe was only 39.00 shipped from china. Tuned SS Exhaust Pipe fit ZENOAH RCMK Petrol Marine for 58" RC Gas Boat 4 708402456332 | eBay
It arrived fast. ordered on nov 18th received it today dec 5th. I still need a header to mate the 26pum to the pipe on this seducer. I see they have different angles. I need to get the engine I guess to see what degree of angle I need. I just wish it weighed about half what it does.

That is the kind of pipe we're forced to use in the UK. They work very well, just obviously much heavier than you guys in the land of the free (noise levels) are used to!

Is it pretty Quiet compared to a pipe with a clamp on muffler or about the same ?

Far quieter, from experience you'll reach 76-78dba at about 10 metres away.

In Europe we have strict noise level limits, circuit boats are limited to 83dba at 22 metres, it's rare to see any racers here using a clamp on muffler as opposed to a full length silenced pipe.

Are these mufflers still being produced? And if so by who? I've been looking for this type with no luck.
