Guys this boat is big... i measured it up for Mark Daniels the boat is 48 x 24 x 5 USPS calculated that as 79.00 to him.. now in reality i would have to get a box maybe 54 x 28 x 8 for adequate padding.. when i plugged those dimensions into usps it threw an error so i would have to take this to the post office to see if they would even ship it and im guessing that it would be even more than 80 bucks not even including packaging materials... so a local pickup would be desirable !!

Hey there Joe, what you’ve got there can easily be broken down with the sponsons taken off to get it all tightly packed into a long torpedoe box, that should save you and the buyer some shipping $$. It’s an old school twin but at $250, that is not unreasonable. If anyone is worried about that price, they haven’t built a twin lately, geared up, they will then think back on the first 250 as a drop in a very large bucket.
Good luck with your sale and hope you find an appreciative home for it!

Greg, unfortunately you cant remove those sponsons with out destroying the boat. ( or at least the sponsons ) the brass tubes corrode to the alum booms very quickly...

I would ship it like it is, but whoever buys it can cut the booms off with a bandsaw and they should be able to heat the brass up with a torch and get them to turn loose from the epoxy without destroying the sponsons.

I had the same problem with my Mongoose Twin. The brass is a problem.
Brad
Brad, i have had a couple dozen mongoose ~ mongeese ? LOL over the years .. they are all the same

Jeff, suggested reason for removal ( by others ) is to fit the boat in a smaller box for shipping.. no reason to cut the sponsons off after the fact !

Read what I wrote again about how I would ship it. On the other, I was kindly spending my time giving an idea to any potential buyer so they know if they have a freaking wreck they can get it apart to make proper repairs.
