I run the TP Power 4060 - 1650kv motor if my memory is correct and a 160a Spektrum esc for the telemetry. Boat runs about 70mph on a 6s5000mah pack using a ABS H-7 prop.

One thing to consider is too much power. If you power beyond a hulls capability you have an ill handling boat that is a nightmare to drive. Easy to overpower with FE and power takes more battery. As Shawn said our 4074 setups perform and run efficiently. Plus cost for motor and esc stay reasonable.

A 2080kv on 6S is a SAW or 2 lap record setup. Works but very narrow and precise range of props. We use 1400-1700kv motors and M445 -1450's - 1717 &1719 /38 props. 65 to 70 mph and you don't need to lift in corners. 140-160 amp draw with a 4074 allows inexpensive Flycolor 150's
