Setting up a twin is something I always wanted to do....since nitro died over here, gas twin was the next step. I have to get drives in but this is ready to go. i also thought a 270 oz servo was enough for steering ...boy was i wrong...getting a 630oz in a few weeks

Why not use dual servos and a Y- connector harness for the throttles... I personally never liked all the linkage in the radio box in case something shifted and locked the linkage wide open..

my tub is 9 3/4 wide 47" long. two servos..hmmm would that complicate the set up, y harness ...another connection to chase? would i need a larger battery?...would that would mean more weight? if you notice the two radio compartments are completely sealed off from each other. i ran that middle stringer from the transom to the front...but in the front its only 1/8. i plan to make a small 3/16 hole with a brass tube to hold the 5/32 rod in it and seal it from the other side.

Leighton,

I've always seen the mechanical linkage distribution done outside the radio box, out in front of the engines (typically), very similar to what you've already done, with only one pushrod through the bulkhead. Not an option?

Thanks. Brad.

i could look at that but i need to make sure it clears the right motor stuffing box. im waiting for my drives to come in...that's a cool idea.

It's done on airplane ailerons all the time.. that's the way I setup my twin also... two small high speed servos with a Y connector..used the same reciver battery. But this was a nitro rigger and the carbs don't require much torque to move them.
I'm sure the gas carbs take a lot more torque to open and close them.

You would not believe the amount of abuse that one gas motor puts on the equipment...now I'm doubling that....its for that very reason I made this boat with a full length center rail....and im also considering not mounting the coils on the motor above the starter. That habbit has broken more than its fair share of coil mounting lugs....while it hasn't happen to me. I wouldn't want that happening with my twin.

The work continues...a little slow but I got these in the bag...paper towel is not a good substitute for breather cloth

I am just running 2 throtle servos. one is on channel 2 and the other on 3. That way I can adjust each in the radio to dial her in.

that makes sense....i like your set up. just seems like i had to get this way out my system. it helps when you could cut your own aluminum....probably tell my race buddy to go that 2 servo route. my cowl is next up

Are you using an airplane radio? cause if the throttle is on ch2 and chan 3 is a mix it doesn't actuate with the trigger? so how are you doing them independently?

My 4PK allows me to program mixes. I just slave 3 to channel 2. This allow control from throttle with independent trim of each servo.
