In the mid 70's there was a lot of new hulls coming out. I remember seeing the Hughey's running very well by the owner. To name a few hulls, JVS, Churris, Octura wing dings, and Crapshooters. I tried them all and couldn't duplicate the owners speed and stability till the Crapshooters came out. At that point I strictly ran Crapshooters in all classes. But those Hughey boys had them running very good. Maybe it was all in the props they were using or making the props that made them run as good as they did. I think Hughey even sold a prop gauge for adjusting pitch. At the time back then Octura was the main source for the props we ran. They came in plastic or beryilium, the plastic wouldn't last on a hydro, but was OK on a mono. Maybe someone would like that kit just for the memory.
