Are you sure you don't mean LPS2? LPS3 leaves a heavy waxy film. I use it on my mill and lathe ways and bed to prevent prevent rust from condensation. LPS2 leaves a thin oil layer to protect.
My gas motor guy BH Hanson told me to use this stuff and it works awsome! I havnt had to replace bearings since. I don't run it thru water lines though.

That's the stuff I use on my equipment. It is very t acky when the solvent g lashes off. It is recommended for external surfaces on outdoor equipment to prevent corrosion like the lanolin based stuff. Very waxy and soesnt wash off with water. Perhaps it is easily dissolved with gasoline.
